BRICKS AND SHAME.

BRICKS AND SHAME.

Scared like the shiver, alone like the fool
Searching for places, rudimentary faces
To hide a head all battered and torn
From pillar to post its run.

No place to call its own
No place like a home
Silence the warmth desired
The ability to set things straight.

From a squat to an archway
From a hope that died a death
Always living in the promise
Of security do fair.

No place …

Within the walls the sigh rings out
Knowledge, the sanctity shall not
Be put asunder
The king within the castle reigns.

And though the shadow creeps
Of senseless parting
The desire still strong it weeps
For chances to prove its mettle.

No place …

Out in the sky the tempers flare
Anger rents within the head
Searching for home to lay it down
Where is home when none can be found.

No place …

Shorn from stability the foundations weak
Never a score (years) to revisit the setting sun
Always another slightly different angle
From which to view each new demise.

No place …
